Option 9: The Coruripe sugar refinery

The Coruripe sugar refinery (http://www.usinacoruripe.com.br) is the largest industrial complex producing sugar and alcohol from the north and northeast of Brazil. It has an area of approximately 36 thousand hectares and 28 thousand are used for the cultivation of sugar cane. The remaining areas are for environmental preservation. The company currently generates 7,000 direct jobs and 35,000 indirect.
In the 2008/2009 harvest 7.70 million bags of 50 kg of sugar and 81 million liters of alcohol were produced.
The county of Coruripe is located in the Meso region of Alagoas Atlantic rainforest The river Coruripe, called by the Indians 'Caetés de Curumij', gave rise to the name of the county.
Among the activities planned for the field trip will be a visit to the sugar cane experimental areas using biological and chemical control for nematode management.
Option 1: Praia do Francês (Frenchman's Beach)
Take a sightseeing tour to one of the most beautiful and acclaimed beaches on the South Coast of Alagoas, where the blue-green waters captivate visitors, and reefs tame the waves, inviting you for a dip in the ocean. Include a visit to Barra de São Miguel while you are there.
- The restaurant has an extensive menu based on typical regional cuisine, a tourist delight.
- There is an optional boat trip, with scuba diving and snorkeling available.
Option 2: Paripueira
On the Northern Coast, excursions are available to the beach at Paripueira, known for its calm and shallow waters. This marvelous place is situated within the Coral Coast Environmental Protection Area, embracing the City Marine Park, custodian of the second largest reserve of corals in the world, in addition to being a Preservation Area for Sea Manatees.
Among the main attractions are the natural coral wading pools formed among the banks of coral, where a huge concentration of marine life is found, principally colorful fish that put on a playful show for visitors.
- Ideal location for snorkeling.
- Optional Boat tours are available at the beach for visits to the natural coral pools, depending on the tides.
- Restaurant service with regional menu, along with all the structure needed to attend to tourists. The restaurant has an extensive menu based on typical regional cuisine, a tourist delight.
Option 3: City Tour (Shopping)
Panoramic sightseeing tour covering the main tourist points of the city: the traditional Jaraguá neighborhood with its historic and cultural heritage, an important center for economic development, passing the Image and Sound Museum, the Maceio Commercial Association, Marsílio Dias Park, entering the center of the City via Rua do Imperador, Visconde de Sinimbu Park, Dom Pedro II Park, the Legislative Assembly, Nossa Senhora dos Prazeres Metropolitan Cathedral, with a brief stop at Jacutinga Hill, and the São Gonçalo do Amarante viewpoint, where you can find the Chapel of the same name.
Continuing, we observe Floriano Peixoto Park, Bom Jesus dos Martírios Church, the Governor's Palace, Deodoro Theater, the Alagoas Academy of Letters, and other attractions.
- Shopping trip to the local handicrafts center.
Option 4: Marapé Dunes
Departing from Duas Barras, we arrive at the dunes where we have a short crossing by boat to a reception featuring local fruits in season. There is plenty of time for bathing in the ocean and crystalline river water. The complex has an infrastructure that includes a restaurant, beach bar, showers, beach chairs and beach umbrellas.
A typical buffet lunch offers seafood options.
Option 5: Gunga Beach
Leaving in the direction of Barra de São Miguel, the tour passes by Ilha de Três Corações (Three hearts island), and Roteiro Lake, then we arrive at Gunga beach, famous for being among the ten most beautiful in Brazil, and a great place to stop for a dip in the ocean and river.
Option 6: Maragogi
The village is truly blessed by the beautiful exuberance of its beaches. Located at the extreme north of the 'Gold Coast' of Alagoas, it is known for the famous Galés (name derived from the old shipwrecks found there) approximately 6 km from the beach. An incredible eco-system forms natural aquariums among the coral reefs, a great place for scuba diving and snorkeling since visibility is enhanced by clear waters.
- Optional Catamaran Tour to Galés, depending on the tides.
- Restaurant and Bar services on the beach provide an appropriate tourism infrastructure.Ideal location for snorkeling.
Option 7: Caio Mar Catamaran Tour
In reality a three hulled Cat, or Trimarand, the trip starts at Barra de São Miguel, heading towards Gunga beach, one of the most beautiful in the region, and definitely worth checking out.
Included in the Tour: Lunch with a varied menu, fruit, soft drinks, and water.
Option 8: São Francisco River Delta
Following the 'Coconut Road' to the municipality of Piaçabucu on the banks of the "Old Chico", we head to the Delta of what is called the "The largest totally Brazilian river". Exotic scenery and virgin nature adorn the entire tour route. Migrating sand dunes and an expanse of fine sand on the beach serve as rest stops and habitat for migratory birds, a great attraction in this unforgettable region.
- As this is an environmental preservation area, there are no services or infrastructure on the beach, only on the boat.
- The Boat tour and lunch are not included, they are optional.Ideal location for snorkeling.
